Folds

Posted On: 9th of July, 2016
Posted In: Out and About

The first solo exhibition for Western Australian artist Zafir is coming up!

Opens: Wednesday 20 July, 6pm
Runs until: Saturday 30 July
Where: Gallery Central - North Metropolitan TAFE, 12 Aberdeen St, Perth

Folds is a stunning and touching project that centres on giving voices to individuals within society who may feel often overlooked or dismissed. Zafir explores the experiences these people have encountered through interviews and portraiture. They include people in sexual transition, drug rehabilitation, recovery from trauma, homelessness and more.

This amazing artwork display on the evening will showcase the realities and emotional struggle of those marginalised around us. All interviews with the subjects are also transcribed into a collective memoir.
